Downtown Vancouver, is normally described as the southeastern part of the peninsula located in the north-central portion of Vancouver. This Metro Vancouver lower mainland region is the commercial, financial, cultural, entertainment, government and business hub of the city.
The downtown area is generally said to be bounded by False Creek to the south, the Burrard Inlet to the north, the Downtown Eastside to the east, and the West End and Stanley Park to the west. The City of Vancouver defines Stanley Park and the West End neighborhood as separate vicinities although lots of sources include the full downtown peninsula as part of the description of Downtown Vancouver.
